The Sole F85 is a gym-quality treadmill. It has the largest deck Sole offers and can handle users up to 400lbs. There are also preprogrammed modes to provide you with an efficient workout while safely challenging your abilities.
With this model being at the top of the treadmill line, it’s important to determine whether the added cost is worth it. I’ll try to go over as many features as possible in this article to help you choose whether this model is right for you. If you’re in a hurry and looking for the current prices check out the conclusion and deal section at the bottom of this page.
One of the most important technological features is the Cushion Flex Whisper Deck. This has been shown in studies to reduce the impact on your joints by as much as 40% compared to running on asphalt. This is a huge benefit for frequent runners and provides a safer way to exercise.
The motor is a big factor when it comes to performance and smoothness of any treadmill. As you’d expect with a model at this price, you get a large 4.0 CHP motor (continuous horsepower). It has a speed range of 0.5 – 12 mph with an adjustable incline of 0 – 15%. This is sure to give you a good challenge regardless of what fitness level you’re at.
There’s a 9″ backlit LCD screen you’ll use to track your analytics and select between all of the modes and settings. As far as the presets go you have access to 6 normal workouts, 2 user-defined workouts, and 2 heart rate control workouts. The heart rate modes are especially nice since the treadmill will automatically adjust itself to keep your heart rate at a constant point.

The actual running surface measures 22″ x 60″ which gives you an exceptional amount of room to run on compared to some other brands/models. The belt is a two-ply design which is naturally more durable than machines that use a one-ply belt. This means it will hold up better to more vigorous workouts.
If you love listening to music while running, you’ll be happy to know that this machine is MP3 compatible and has a built-in speaker system. This lets you blast your music extra loud as you exercise. It’s a common feature on most higher-end treadmills and one I’m sure you’ll get a lot of use out of.
You’ll undoubtedly be working up a major sweat while using the machine. Thankfully there are two cooling fans built into the console with directional control to help keep you more comfortable. It’s a really nice addition that just makes this model more pleasant to use than some other options.
Overall the Sole F85 treadmill offers some nice features that help set it apart from other choices you may have. Compared to some cheaper models it has a more powerful motor, allows heavier users, bigger LCD screen, and a wider running surface. It’ll be up to you to decide whether the extra features are worth it for your needs. If they aren’t but you still want this brand, the alternatives would be the F80 or F65 models which are priced around $300 and $500 cheaper respectively.
You get a lifetime warranty on the frame, motor, and deck. There’s also a 5-year warranty on the electronics and 2-year warranty on labor. So if you have any issues with the machine, it’s nice to know the parts will be covered for a rather long time at least. It helps give you some peace of mind after making a purchase.
There are many treadmill choices available and I know it can be difficult deciding on one. I recommend asking yourself which features are the most important to you and compare their warranties. Hopefully doing that will help you narrow down which machine is right for you.
